Elizabeth S. Banks

Elizabeth S. Banks, 85, of Mechanicsville, Virginia, died peacefully at the home of her daughter and son-in-law on Saturday, April 18 after a long illness.

Mrs. Banks was preceded in death by her husband, Revis E. Banks, and her parents, Katharine Blanchard and Henry Hull Simmons. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Katharine B. and Jeffrey K. Pasch, of Mechanicsville; her son, R. Clifford Banks, of Atlanta, her granddaughter and her husband, Ashley E. and Brian K. Thibodeau, also of Mechanicsville, and her grandson, Benjamin B. Hodges, III, of Northern Virginia, and her granddaughter, Ansley T. White, of Savannah, her great-grandson, Oliver P. Thibodeau, of Mechanicsville, and many beloved sisters and brothers-in law, nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church for over 60 years. She was born and raised in Savannah and left when her health declined to go live with her daughter's family. She was a past member of The Legion of Mary, past volunteer bookkeeper and secretary of Blessed Sacrament School, as well as a volunteer in many other areas of her beloved school.

The family will receive friends at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel, at 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home, also on Wednesday.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Blessed Sacrament Church at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday with internment following at Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.
